Upper Scioto Valley 36, St. Marys 35
The Rams pulled victory from the jaws of defeat Saturday when they erased an 11-point fourth quarter deficit for the 36-35 win over St. Marys.
Quinn Sanders led USV in their frenetic comeback with a double, double (14 points, 10 rebounds). Wayne Lowery added 13 to give the Rams the one-two punch they needed to pull off the comeback.
The Roughriders jumped out to a big lead, but they couldn’t close the deal as they were outscored 17-5 in the fourth quarter. Austin Wilker led the Riders in scoring with 10 points, seven of Wilker’s points came in the first quarter and he was unable to score in the decisive fourth quarter.
Ethan Steiger just missed out on giving St. Marys a duo in double digits as he added nine points to the Riders cause.
Lincolnview 56, Antwerp 30
The Lancers had little trouble moving their record to 8-5 after Saturday’s win over the Archers. Caden Ringwald led Lincolnview in scoring with 16. He was joined Ethan Kemler in double digits when Kemler tossed in 12 points of his own. The Lancers called off the dogs in the fourth quarter after taking a 50-26 lead as they cruised to the 26-point victory.
Luke Brewer led the Archers attack in scoring with 11. Jayvin Landers added eight for the Archers.
Kalida 58, Columbus Grove 49
The Wildcats shot a sizzling 53% from the field and connected on half of their three-pointers as they nailed nine treys. Luke Erhart led all scorers with 21-points to pace Kalida in Saturday’s win. Owen Recker put 16-points next to his name in the stat sheet to Erhart the help he needed to give the home crowd a win.
After a fast start that saw the Bulldogs score 19 in the opening quarter, Columbus Grove found themselves going in and out of offensive funks the remainder of the game. Blake Reynolds led Grove with 17 points and three boards. Logan Malsom added nine and Tayt Birnesser chipped in with seven points in the loss.
