Ft. Loramie 51, Anna 44
The Redskins boys basketball team notched a huge SCAL win Friday night downing Anna 51-44. Fort Loramie was led by Dillon Braun with 16 points in the game, joining Braun in double digits were Tyler Siegel (14) and Evan Berning (10).
After leading for most of the first half Anna struggled for most of the second half and as they fell behind. The Rockets did not go away easy as they were in it until the very end. Mason Platfoot led Anna in scoring with 12 points. All of Platfoot’s scoring came from behind the arc where he drilled four three point shots.
The Redskins move their record to 9-2 (6-1) and return to action Saturday night at Minster. Anna falls to 6-6 (3-4) and will get back on the court Saturday night when they travel to St. Henry
Upper Scioto Valley 67, Ridgemont 43
Wayne Lowery had a big game as the Rams had little trouble beating Ridgemont Friday night. Lowery scored 24 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was particularly effective from behind the three-point line where he sank five shots. Brady Hipsher chipped in scoring 16 points and pulling nine rebounds to support Lowery in the win.
Ridgemont found it difficult to solve a USV defense that heldthem to just 28 points for three quarters before finding some rhythm in their 15 point fourth. Ridgmemont was led in scoring by Trenton Sparks with 10 points.
Ft. Recovery 56, New Bremen 38
Micaiah Cox scored 13 and his teammate Payton Jutte added 11 of his own as Ft. Revovery walked away with the victory Friday night.
The Indians struggled shooting, hitting just 36% from the field but dominated on the offensive glass where they grabbed 11 offensive rebounds and forced 28 turnovers with their swarming defense.
Nolan Bornhorst scored 15 points to lead New Bremen and Luke Vonderhaar added 12 to the box score. The rest of the Cardinals could only muster eleven points in support of Bornhorst and Vonderhaar.
