Van Buren 52 Arlington 48
Van Buren used a 19-24 performance from the free throw line to propel them to a 52-48 BVC victory over the Arlington Red Devils Friday night. On the other side, Arlington only shot four fouls shots, connecting on three of them.
Braxton Fasone led Van Buren with 18 points and he added six rebounds to stuff his stat sheet. Arlington was led by Logan Speyer who had a game high 19 points, 12 rebounds, and six blocked shots in the losing effort.
Van Buren (4-0) hosts Upper Scioto Valley on Friday night while Arlington (1-3) will host Columbus Grove on Saturday.
Delphos Jefferson 55 Bluffton 39
Jace Stockwell (22) and Drew Reiss (11) both scored in double digits for the Wildcats as they beat Bluffton, who were led by Gabe Denecker with 11 points.
Jefferson wins their first game of the season (1-4) and travels to Kalida on Saturday while Bluffton remains winless (0-3) and will host McComb on Saturday night.
Perry 71 Upper Scioto Valley 61
The Commodores trailed by two at the half before blowing past the Rams with a huge 33-21 advantage in the second the half.
USV was led by Wyatt Daniels (22) and Wayne Lowery (16) in scoring in the loss. Perry got a game high out of Jakobey Lane-Harvey with 28 points, and stretch their season starting win streak to four games and will shoot for five Saturday when they travel to Ada.
After winning their first two games of the season, USV has now dropped their last two and will look to end the streak Saturday against Van Buren.
Marion Local 61 St. Henry 53
The Flyers jumped out to an 8-4 first quarter lead and held on for the win in an otherwise competitive game. Tyler Schlarman of St. Henry led all scorers Friday night with 16 points.

Versailles 78 New Bremen 48
Justin Ahrens led Versailles with a game high 19 points as they defeated New Bremen 78-48. Nolan Bornhorst led the Cardinals with 16 points and did everything he could to try to stop the bleeding, but Versailles in the end was just too good on Friday night.
Temple Christian 66 Riverside 48
Riverside went into the half up by five, but just couldn’t hold on as they were outscored 23-3 in a crushing third period. Riverside was led by Trey Helmlinger and his 18 points.
“We got off to a great start tonight. We executed well on both ends of the floor. We went into halftime with a small lead, but then came out in the third quarter and went almost 6 minutes without scoring,” Riverside coach Bodenmiller said. “You have to give Temple a lot of credit, they made a lot of big 3’s at key moments and knocked down almost all their free throws down the stretch.”
Holgate 47 Kalida 40
After trailing Kalida for the whole game and struggling to make shots – Holgate finally found the bottom of the net in the 4th, where they outscored Kalida 20-11. The fourth quarter burst gave Holgate more than enough to win the game.
Fort Jennings 56 Ottoville 50
It only took three quarters of good basketball for Fort Jennings to defeat Ottoville Friday night. After starting out well by scoring 17 in the first, Fort Jennings scored a miserable 3 points in the second and went to the locker rooms trailing by seven. Ottoville was unable to capitalize on the momentum as Fort Jennings came out firing on all cylinders en route to their victory.
Logan Hardeman led the way for Fort Jennings with 17 points and Logan Kemper led all scorers with 23 points for Ottoville. Brandon Wehri and Ian Finn both chipped in with 13 points in the winning cause.
Wayne Trace 82 Liberty Center 62
Wayne Trace had little trouble Friday night as they beat Liberty Center and moved their mark to 4-0 on the season. Wayne Trace was led by Ethan Linder with 30 points and has a phenomenal night of shooting going 11-14 from the field and 8-10 at the line. Linder just missed a triple double as he fell short getting only six rebounds to go along with his 11 assists and 30 points.
Liberty Center was led by lake Graber who had 18 points. Graber was helped by Christian Chambers and his seven boards and seven points.
Fort Recovery 56 Delphos St. John’s 55
Fort Recovery topped Delphos St. John’s with a buzzer beater from Matt Bihn, giving the Indians a 56-55 victory. Caleb Martin scored 15 points to go along with nine rebounds and four assists. He was joined in double digits by Micaiah Cox who had 13 points.
St. John’s was led by Tim Kreeger and Jared Wurst who tied to be the game’s leading scorers with 16 points. There were seven ties and 15 lead changes in the game before Fort Recovery was finally able to emerge victorious.Error, group does not exist! Check your syntax! (ID: 11)
