Micaiah Cox led Fort Recovery with game highs for points (18) and rebounds (11) to top off his double-double in the win.
New Knoxville had a tough second quarter in which they scored only five points and built up too large of a deficit for them to climb out of completely. Nathan Tinnerman led them with 17 ponts and two steals. Nick Topp added 15 points and four rebounds in the New Knoxville loss.
With the win, Fort Recovery ends the regular season at 15-7 (6-3 in MAC), while New Knoxville drops to 5-17 (1-8 in MAC).
Kalida 45, Fairview 33
Defense ruled the night at Kalida on Friday. The Wildcats held Fairview to an uninspired 30% shooting. Collin Niedermeyer scored a game high 16 points for Kalida in the win. He was joined in double digit scoring by Trent Siebeneck with 10 points.
Luke Breininger and Justin Smith shared the honors as Fairview’s leading scorers as they tied with seven points apiece. Austin Meyer came in third with five points in the loss.
Kalida is now 10-12, while Fairview falls to 10-12.
Arlington 60, Arcadia 26
The Red Devils rolled Friday night in their Blanchard Valley Conference win over Arcadia.
Matt Crawford led Arlington with 16 points. Logan Speyer chipped in 15 points, including his 1,000th career point in the 1st quarter. Speyer also grabbed six rebounds and had two steals and a blocked shot.
Arlington moves to 11-11 (7-4 in BVC), while Arcadia drops to 4-17 (1-10 in BVC)
Wayne Trace 67, Ottoville 59
Ethan Linder had an off night by his standards with just 14 points in the Raiders victory. Linder was picked up by his teammates Brady Stabler with 14 points and Eli Sinn who scored 12 in the Wayne Trace victory. Linder did manage to score a double-double with 11 rebounds to go along with the 14 points.
Ottoville was led Ryan Bendele’s game high of 27 points. Logan Kemper also had a good game with 14 points in Ottoville’s loss. Kemper added 12 rebounds to complete the double-double in the game.]
This was the 100th game of Ethan Linder’s career, the first Wayne Trace Raider, either boy or girl, to accomplish the feat.
Wayne Trace finishes the regular season at 20-2, while the Big Green fall to 8-12.
Leipsic 56, Fort Jennings 48
Grant Schroeder’s game-high 21 points propelled Leipsic to a 56-48 win over Fort Jennings Friday,
Jordan Berger chipped in 12 points for the Vikings, who move to 14-8 (4-3 in PCL) with the win.
Ian Finn led the Musketeers with 16 points.
With the loss, Fort Jennings falls to 8-14 (0-7 in PCL).
Toledo Christian 53, Antwerp 47
Toledo Christian out rebounded Antwerp 28-17, and the Eagles made 86% (19-22) of their free throws in a 53-47 win.
Antwerp was led by Matt Jones, who scored 14 points. Cole Seslar (13 points) and Dylan Peters (11 points) joined Jones in double digits.
Delano Smith led Toledo Christian with 18 points.
Antwerp ends the regular season with an 8-14 record.
St. Henry 58, New Bremen 56
New Bremen, winners of just one game in the 2016-2017 season gave St. Henry quite the scare Friday night, before the Redskins eeked out a 58-56 win.
The Redskins shot 52% (21-40) from the field in the win. Ryan Lutmer’s 15 points led St. Henry. Mitch Schwieterman scored 11 points for the 13-9 (5-4 in MAC) Redskins.
Nolan Bornhorst led all scorers with 17 points. Brandon Heitkamp (12 points) and Avery Powers (11 points) joined Bornhorst in double figures.
New Bremen ends their regular season at 1-21 (1-8 in MAC).
