Bellefontaine 55, Granville 28
Bellefontaine’s Dezmin Lyburtus had another stellar game, completing 10-13 passes for 216 yards and 4 touchdown passes while rushing for 4 more touchdowns as the Chieftains took care of Granville 55-28.
Toby Smith’s squad held a 21-14 lead in the second quarter before going on a 3-minute rampage, scoring four touchdowns to take a 48-14 lead into the halftime break.
As a team, Bellefontaine, who advance to play Dresden Tri-Valley, rushed for 194 yards.
Division IV
St. Marys 48, Marengo Highland 8
Colin Clements was perfect Friday, completing all 5 of his pass attempts for 91 yards and 3 touchdowns as St. Marys had no problem defeating Marengo Highland 48-8.
Braeden Dunlap led the way on the ground, rushing for 104 yards and 3 touchdowns on 10 carries. He also caught 1 pass for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Keegan Sawmiller had 10 tackles for the Roughriders and Drew Jacobs caught 3 interceptions in the win.
48 points is a new school record for points in a playoff game for the Roughriders.
St. Marys, who moves on to face Shelby, outgained Highland by a 377-191 margin.
Division V
Archbold 23, Indian Lake 14
Archbold jumped out to a 20-0 lead over Indian Lake, but the Lakers fought back with 14 points in the fourth quarter before falling 23-14.
Clay Jacobs was 16-28 for 167 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Connor Dixon led the way on the ground for the Lakers, rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Collin Coburn caught 12 passes for 115 yards and a score in the loss.
The Lakers finish the season with a 7-4 record.
Division VI
Liberty-Benton 49, Ada 18
Austin May’s stellar game propelled Liberty-Benton to a 49-18 win over Ada Friday.
May was 13-17 for 247 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win. He also rushed for 80 yards on 17 carries. Marshall Rose led the way on the ground for the 10-1 Eagles, rushing for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 9 carries. He also caught 3 passes for 74 yards and a touchdown. Will Poling and Connor Greer added touchdown catches.
Ada was led by Seth Conley, who completed 21 of 40 pass attempts for 216 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. He also carried the ball 11 times for 88 yards and another touchdown in the loss.
With the win, Liberty-Benton advances to play Hicksville, who beat Gibsonburg 35-8. Ada ends their season at 7-4.
Spencerville 34, Mechanicsburg 0
Spencerville absolutely dominated Mechanicsburg en route to a 34-0 victory.
The Bearcats held the Indians to just 68 yards of total offense. Spencerville had 355 yards of total offense, 351 of them coming on the ground.
Chris Picker led the charge for the 9-2 Bearcats, rushing for 267 yards and 4 touchdowns on 33 carries. Joel Lotz added a touchdown run.
Eli Yahl led the way on defense, tallying 9 tackles in the win.
Spencerville advances to play Marion Local, who beat Fort Recovery 27-0.
LCC 45, Dayton Christian 7
Logan Schultz exploded for 158 yards and 4 touchdowns on just 15 carries as Lima Central Catholic had no problems beating Dayton Christian 45-7.
Brendon Stolly was 8-17 for 180 yards and a touchdown in the win, which moves to the T-Birds to 10-1. Brayden O’Dell caught 6 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown.
The T-Birds outgained Dayton Christian 528-177.
With the win, LCC advances to play Coldwater, who beat Tipp City Bethel 42-7.
Division VII
Pandora-Gilboa 19, Sycamore Mohawk 14
It wasn’t pretty, but Pandora-Gilboa found a way to beat Sycamore Mohawk 19-14 Friday.
Jared Breece was 11-18 for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns, one going to Carter Nofziger and the other going to Riley Larcom. Nofziger caught 6 passes for 60 yards and that touchdown.
The Rockets, now 9-2, advance to play 9-2 McComb, who shutout BVC rival Leipsic.
Minster 40, Fort Loramie 24
Fort Loramie scored 24 unanswered points Friday. Unfortunately, it was after Minster had jumped out to a 40-0 lead.
Jared Huelsman had another stellar game for the Wildcats. He was 8-11 through the air for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns, while rushing for 93 yards and 2 more touchdowns on 8 carries. Isaac Schmiesing led the way on the ground, carrying the ball 7 times for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
Max Hoying had 4 carries for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss for Fort Loramie, whose season ends at 8-3.
With the win, Minster, now 7-4, advances to play Crestview. The Knights beat Ansonia 63-22.
Delphos St. John’s 48, Riverside 21
Whatever Todd Schulte told his team at halftime worked, as Delphos St. John’s took a 21-21 halftime score to a 48-21 drubbing of Riverside.
Jared Wurst had a big night for the 7-4 Blue Jays, completing 10-17 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown. He also led the Blue Jays on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown on 8 carries.
Colin Will had a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown in the 4th quarter for St. John’s.
Kale Long was 11-19 for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss for Riverside, whose season ends at 6-5.
Delphos St. John’s advances to play Lehman Catholic.
Lehman Catholic 46, Perry 6
Perry’s first trip to the postseason was a short one, as Lehman Catholic bounced the Commodores by a 46-6 score.
Owen Smith led the way for the 10-1 Cavaliers, rushing for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 carries.
Perry ends the season at 6-5.
Lehman Catholic advances to play Delphos St. John’s.
