Brett Schwieterman had a night to remember, as Celina whipped Van Wert 63-21.
The junior QB completed 13 of his 15 pass attempts for 340 yards and a whopping 6 touchdowns, while rushing for 141 yards on 18 carries in the win. WR Kole Murlin caught 8 passes for 175 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Jacoby Kelly led the Cougars with 6 receptions for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns.
With the win, the Bulldogs move to 6-3, while Van Wert drops to 4-5.
Shawnee 56, Bath 8
Shawnee’s Johnny Caprella was 11-18 for 333 yards and 2 touchdowns, and he rushed for 101 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 7 carries as the Indians had no problem taking care of Bath.
Jayvion Daniels caught 6 passes from Caprella, good for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
Bath’s Kobe Burchett rushed for 119 yards on 29 carries to lead the Wildcats. He also completed just 3 of his 16 pass attempts for 35 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in the loss.
Shawnee moves to 4-5 with the win, while Bath drops to 1-8.Ada 42, Bluffton 17
Seth Conley was on fire Friday, going 24-37 for 450 yards and 5 touchdowns as Ada beat Bluffton 42-17.
Chase Sumner caught 11 passes for 184 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.
Deandre Nassar rushed for 83 yards in the loss for Bluffton.
Ada’s playoff hopes stay alive with the win, as they move to 6-3. Bluffton falls to 3-6.
Will Homan’s 291 yards and 3 touchdowns on 22 carries propelled Fort Recovery to an easy 38-7 win over New Bremen.
Freshman Clay Schmitz was efficient through the air, going 6-9 for 43 yards and a touchdown in the win.
Nolan Bornhorst was 8-15 for 57 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 69 yards in the loss. New Bremen is now 3-6 on the year.
Kaden Will and Ethan Schoen each had 10 tackles in the win for the Indians, who move to 5-4.
McComb 49, Pandora-Gilboa 27
McComb battled through adversity to beat Pandora-Gilboa 49-27 in a matchup with BVC title implications.
McComb’s starting quarterback Cam Morris was arrested and charged with one count of burglary on Thursday. The Panthers leading wide receiver, Tanner Schroeder, was forced into the starting role, and only completed one pass. That one pass, however, went to Robert O’Dell for a 58-yard touchdown pass.
The Panthers relied on the ground game for most of the night, as Clay Santos carried the ball 26 times for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.
Jared Breece was 9-25 for 83 yards and 3 touchdowns in the loss for the Rockets.
With the win, McComb moves to 8-1, while Pandora-Gilboa drops to 7-2.
Fairview 42, Holgate 13
Cade Poulter was outstanding, going 13-18 for 245 yards and 3 touchdowns as Fairview took down Holgate 42-13.
Caleb Frank caught 5 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown, while Riley Lucas and Thomas Vance each hauled in touchdown passes of their own.
Ian Groves and Zach Hess each added touchdown runs for the Apaches, who move to 5-4 with the win.
Holgate falls to 2-7.
Edgerton 31, Ayersville 16
Sophomore Hunter Prince rushed for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns as Edgerton beat Ayersville 31-16 Friday.
Clayton Flegal was 10-14 for 97 yards in the win.
Sam McGuire led the way for the Pilots, who fall to 5-4. He completed 6 of 15 passes for 67 yards, and rushed for 97 yards and both of Ayersville’s touchdowns.
With the win, Edgerton moves to 7-2.
Bellefontaine 41, Indian Lake 0
Bellefontaine’s Dezmin Lyburtus was nearly perfect Friday, completing 14 of his 16 pass attempts, good 313 yards, and 3 touchdowns as the Chieftains shutout rival Indian Lake 41-0.
Lyburtus also rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Garrett Gross led Bellefontaine on the ground, with 77 yards on 18 carries. Johnny Ganson had 6 receptions for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns and also had an interception in the win.
The Lakers were led by Connor Dixon, who rushed for 69 yards in the loss.
Bellefontaine, now 8-1 on the season, will host Kenton Ridge next Friday, while Indian Lake (6-3), travels to Benjamin Logan.
Urbana 34, Benjamin Logan 22
Trent Berry rushed for 2 touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as Benjamin Logan fell 34-22 to Urbana Friday.
Derek Coy was 18-32 for 180 yards on the night, but threw 3 costly interceptions. Coy also rushed for 59 yards. Cole Waugh caught 11 passes for 95 yards in the loss.
