Wayne Trace 42, Antwerp 38
Claire Sinn led the Lady Raiders to a close win by scoring a dozen points to go along with six rebounds, four steals and a pair of assists. Brooke Sinn also scored in double digits in the win as she finished with 10 points and four boards. Gracie Gundakunst added eight, Sadie Sinn had six, while Chelsea Sinn added three, and Lily Sinn and Kaylee Shephard scored two and one respectively to round out the Wayne Trace scoring.
Antwerp got a game high of 16 points out of Heather Oberlin in the loss. Rachel Williamson offered nine points in support of Oberlin, but they couldn’t find enough scoring help to overtake Wayne Trace as they narrowly lost by just four points. Hope Smith scored six, Amanda Roberts had and Chelsea Johanns added two to close out Antwerp’s scoring.
Tinora 44, Ayersville 30
After one quarter of action you could either say that it was one of the best defensive performances in basketball from a pair of teams, or you could say that Ayersville and Tinora set offenses back to the caveman ages tied at 3-3 – Tinora did a good job of getting into their offense and coming away with a 44-30 win.
Sarah Harris led all scorers with 12 points as she willed Tinora past Ayersville Friday night. Sydney Grieser just barely missed out on a double, double as she scored nine points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Taylor Brown tossed in seven points and Grayce Burkholder score four and came down with 10 rebounds in the victory.
Ashlee Tressler led Ayersville in scoring with seven points as her squad came up short in the loss. Kryshel Dales added six points and Abbie Miller scored five in a failed effort to lead the team past Tinora. They had another six players combine for their remaining 12 points in the game.
