Herb L. Lane, Jr.
Herb Lane, Jr. 44, of Lima, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017.
He was born on September 6, 1972 in Lima to Herb L. (Becky) Lane, Sr. of Lima and Carol (Jim) Fowler of Florida. On April 3, 2014, he married Jennifer Mustaine, who survives in Lima.
Herb was the owner of Seamless Construction and had previously worked at Lima Senior High School as a teacher of Construction Trade. He was the former Jr. High football coach and head varsity girls basketball coach at Perry Schools. He was currently the head varsity football coach and the assistant coach for the boys varsity basketball team at Perry High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marines. He was a member of the VFW Post 1275, the American Legion #96 and the Marine Corp League, Detachment 1063. He enjoyed camping, golfing and riding his Harley. He loved coaching and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his sons Korey (Kali Wireman) Lane of New Breman, Zackary (Hannah Rodgers) Lane of Lima, Austin (Sierra Fromm) Ruble of Lima and Jax Lane at home in Lima; his brothers Keith Wooddell, Craig (Karla) Lane, Mark Cotrell and James Fowler, Jr.; his sisters Rose (Paul) Stippich, Stacey (John) Kile, Kim Simmons and Tracey Ward; his grandchildren Malaki and Khari Lane; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2017 and from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 20, 2017 in the gymnasium at Perry High School, 2770 E. Breese Road, Lima.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military graveside services being conducted by VFW Post 1275.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
