Luke Taviano has been named the new head football coach at Perry High School.
Taviano was approved at Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting. Taviano, a 1997 Perry graduate, played collegiately at Tiffin, before graduating from Bluffton University. He has 12 years experience as an assistant coaching, at Perry and most recently at Delphos Jefferson.
He replaces the late Herb Lane, who was killed in a traffic accident on March 13th. Lane compiled a 3-7 record during his one season as the head coach at Perry.
With Taviano’s hiring, every local school has filled their head football coaching vacancy. You can view the entire list of area coaching changes here.
Coach Herb Lane was a great man. Perry really suffered a great loss when he passed. Coach Taviano will be a good predecessor. I’m excited about the possibilities! Go PHS!
