Minster's Niemeyer Gets Special Gift
Minster’s Jon Niemeyer hit the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 7th inning to beat Russia in the Division IV State Championship game back on June 3rd.
Sunday, Niemeyer’s father tweeted a picture show the ball Niemeyer hit to win the title.
But the story of how Niemeyer got the ball is what’s special.
Dion Puthoff of Russia grabbed the ball after the game, as a memento of making it to the State Championship game.
After a few weeks of having the ball, however, Puthoff thought Niemeyer should have the ball. So he delivered it to Niemeyer’s door.
Dion Puthoff of @russia_raiders knocked on our door to give this to Jon. Who says sports don’t teach life lessons? Fine young man! #classact pic.twitter.com/S5B0HaNb5g
