BOWLING GREEN— Things started out as well as the North Baltimore Tigers could have wished. Their offense was crashing the board and the defense was pressuring Mansfield St. Peter’s as they led the Spartans 10-4 early – that’s when things turned ugly as they fell 72-45 in three Regional Semifinal Tuesday night.
Led by Jared Jakubiak (23 points), St. Peter’s ended the first quarter on a 12-0. They didn’t stop their as they forced a turnover to start the second quarter with an easy lay-up. By the time all was said and done the Spartans scored 19 unanswered and ended the half on 31-10 run and up 35-20 at the intermission.
The second half saw more of the same as St. Peter’s started on 14-4 run on their way to a 61-35 third quarter lead. The Spartans placed a total of players in double figures scoring.
The Tigers did what they could, but just could not match up against the more seasoned and more athletically Mansfield St. Peter’s.
Julian Hagemeier scored 19 points in the loss.
North Baltimore finishes their season with a 16-11 mark. Mansfield St. Peter’s moves to 24-2 and awaits Delphos St. John’s, after the Blue Jays beat Holgate in the other Division IV Regional Semifinal.
