SPENCERVILLE — With one week until the start of Northwest Conference play, the Spencerville Bearcats wanted to continue their good play against the Holgate Tigers at Memorial Field at Spencerville High School. The Bearcats scored on every possession other than their final drive, which ended the game, giving the Bearcats a 49-0 victory.
Bluffton 14, Ft. Loramie 0
One big play was all it took for Bluffton to take down Ft. Loramie Friday.
After playing to a scoreless first half, the Pirates got a big break early in the third quarter, as Jason Bracy hit Kaleb Jefferson for a 61 yard touchdown pass to give the Pirates a 7-0 lead.
They were able to put together a drive in the fourth quarter, too, as Jefferson punched it in from a yard out, giving Bluffton all the scoring they’d need.
Bracy was 9-13, throwing for 153 yards and a TD in the win. Jefferson only had 49 yards on 20 carries, but scored both TD’s for the 2-1 Pirates. Ft. Loramie falls to 0-3 with the loss.

OTTAWA — Sometimes you just have a week you would like to forget.
That may have been the feeling in the Van Wert locker room after the Cougars suffered a 42-0 loss to Ottawa-Glandorf in Western Buckeye League action at Titan Stadium on Friday night.

Patrick Henry 47, Columbus Grove 27
Just as he did last year, Patrick Henry RB Donny Johnson has ran all over the competition through the first three weeks of the season.
Johnson had 215 yards rushing on 22 carries, and 6 TD’s in the Patriots win over Columbus Grove.
Reid Stechschulte led the Bulldogs, rushing for 152 yards and 2 TD’s on 17 carries. Teammate Eric Warnecke ran the ball 6 times for 97 yards and a TD.
The Patriots amassed 506 yards of total offense in the win. Johnson now has 13 rushing TD’s through three weeks of the season.

Ft. Recovery 44, Parkway 7
FORT RECOVERY — The Parkway Panthers took on the reigning Division VII State champs Friday night as they travelled to Fort Recovery to play the Indians. Entering play, the Panthers were 0-2 and looking to get their season turned around, but Friday was not their night as they fell to the Indians by a score of 44-7.
St. Marys 43, Shawnee 6
St. Marys head coach Doug Frye garnered his 200th career win in the Riders 43-6 win over Shawnee Friday.
Eric Spicer caught a 38 yard touchdown pass from Howell in the first quarter to get blue and gold on the board. He finished the night with 68 yards rushing on 5 carries.
In other record breaking news, St. Marys QB Dustin Howell set the school record for touchdown passes in a career. Howell hit Demarcus Fountaine on a 32 yard touchdown pass to make the score 43-0 near the end of the first half. That touchdown pass, the 17th of his career, put him in sole possession of first place on the school’s all-time list, eclipsing Derek Dunlap.

Delphos St. John’s 46, Minster 30
DELPHOS — St. John’s was seemingly in control of its Midwest Athletic Conference gridiron opener versus Minster Friday night at Stadium Park, leading 27-6 early in the third period.
The visiting Wildcats then caught fire and rallied within 33-30 to close the quarter, but a crucial 52-yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Jacob Youngpeter regained the momentum for the Blue Jays and they held on for a 46-30 victory.
Delphos Jefferson 49, Fairview 0
SHERWOOD — The Delphos Jefferson Wildcats were hungry to bounce back from a tough loss last week, and they did so in a big way. In a non-league game at Fairview, the Jeffcats ran away in a dominating performance, winning 49-0.
