Whit Parks won’t return as Fort Loramie’s head football coach in 2018, after resigning his post Wednesday.
Parks, who led the Redskins to an 8-3 season and playoff berth this season, ends his 3-year tenure at Fort Loramie with a 19-13 record.
He told the Sidney Daily News an anonymous survey was sent out to the players and community, and the results surprised him.
“I really had no intentions of resigning after this season,” Parks said. “… But it was pretty apparent from that survey and the comments that were made that they really don’t want our program there anymore. So I thought it was best that I move on.”
Parks has had a long, storied career coaching Ohio high school football. He has a career record of 213-158-3.
He was just the third head coach in Fort Loramie’s football history.
Fort Loramie is now the second local school with a head coach opening. You can view the entire list of area coaching changes here.
